Our First Pulse Survey Results: Thank You!

We are genuinely grateful to everyone who completed our inaugural bi-weekly DEM Pulse Survey sent on August 4. Your participation and candid feedback are what make this program so valuable.

144 of you responded to the first survey–that’s a 73% participation rate. You also did a great job getting it done first thing–84 participants responded that very day (58%), and over 90% of those folks finished the survey before noon. And it took most of you less than 2 minutes to complete. Way to make it look easy, DEM team! Read highlights from the pulse survey here.

Bar chart titled, “Overall, I feel a sense of belonging and support in my work at DEM.” Responses are shown across five agreement categories. Strongly disagree: 0 responses; Somewhat disagree: 8 responses; Neither agree nor disagree: 13 responses; Somewhat agree: 62 responses; Strongly agree: 61 responses. The tallest bars are for “Somewhat agree” and “Strongly agree,” indicating that most respondents feel a sense of belonging and support at DEM, with relatively few neutral or negative responses.
85.4% of you (123 out of 144 responses) agreed or strongly agreed that overall, you felt a strong sense of belonging in your work at DEM–a mean of 4.22.

A few highlights from the data:

  • 85.4% of you agreed or strongly agreed that overall, you felt a strong sense of belonging in your work at DEM–a strong foundation to build from.
  • Team camaraderie was highly scored, with 91.4% agreeing they feel a sense of connection with their immediate team.
  • Supervisor support for personal time came in even higher at 95.7%!
  • Office leadership communication of reasoning behind decisions scored lowest at 65%.

The open-text responses were thoughtful, specific, and wide-ranging — thank you, we are reading every word. We want to share special kudos from a few comments that shouted out all the team members for their amazing work to support SOAR!

As a reminder, the pulse survey is sent every two weeks and touches on five themes: Protection from Harm, Connection & Community, Work-Life Harmony, Mattering at Work, and Opportunity for Growth. Over time, we will share aggregated results across all five themes on a dashboard on the DEM Insider, so you can see how we’re doing and growing together. Thanks again for contributing to our Culture of Belonging.
