Hello from Helen Faith!

Hello to the Division of Enrollment Management! I am thrilled to join your team at UW–Madison. I’ve had the privilege of meeting many of you virtually in the past two weeks, and I’m grateful for your warm welcome.  My family and I are preparing for our upcoming move, and plan to hit the road in just a few short days. Our two sons, Carl (age 12) and Robin (age 10), are excited to see their new home for the first time. Carl is especially looking forward to the snow (though I’ve warned him that he may be less thrilled about it after a few months of shoveling), and Robin can’t wait to go fishing. My husband, Troy, will work toward re-establishing his real estate practice in Wisconsin while helping the kids get (virtually) settled into their new schools. While I’m the first to admit to being more than a little intimidated by the legendary Wisconsin winters, I’m happy to have an excuse to knit more cozy winter gear by the fireplace…I suspect a balaclava may be added to my queue before long. As many of you already know, I come to UW–Madison with 20 years of student financial aid, enrollment management, and student affairs experience. I’ve worked at the University of California Santa Cruz, Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University, University of Western States, and Lane Community College, and each of these unique experiences has enriched my perspective on the postsecondary education landscape and the incredible diversity of the students and the many other constituents we all serve. I’ve been active in professional association volunteerism and leadership, state and national policy work, and research, and the common thread throughout my career has been a quest for social justice through equity, affordability, inclusion, and success in higher education. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a wonderful fit at UW–Madison for my experience, skills, and passions, and look forward to collaborating with all of you to boost student access and success. -Helen
