New Roles and New Goals at OAR

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment is pleased to announce important staff changes within our team that will effectively address timely, critical needs in our office.   The team members moving into new roles are Jane Duffstein, Street, and Kayla Jensen.
  • Jane is assuming the role of Interim Administrator for Strategic Initiatives.
  • Street is assuming the role of Interim Specialist for Educational and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives.
  • Kayla is assuming the role of Interim Manager for Wisconsin Initiatives and Pathway Partnerships.
Each assignment is temporary, effective November 1, 2020, through July 31, 2021.   OAR has carefully assessed its needs, and given their unique experiences and skills, Jane, Street, and Kayla were identified as critical to advancing our mission and desired state. Please join our team in congratulating them on their appointments!   Collectively, their work in these roles will enable us to do the following in the immediate and near-term:
  • Successfully carry out OAR’s 2020-21 organizational assessment, which will engage many OAR team members from across the office as well as the division on various subcommittees.
  • Create a more inclusive and transparent work environment where team members across the office have a greater knowledgebase of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Advance systems/structures to ensure that team members across the office are informed, empowered, and feel valued.
  • Enable us to strengthen diversity, inclusion, and outreach engagement with students and families across the office.
  • Further advance collaborations between the Diversity and Wisconsin Initiatives teams in serving Wisconsin students.
These roles were designed to be temporary (expiring on July 31, 2021), as the work will inform the future of OAR. This includes our organizational structure and OAR’s long-term approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are entering an exciting time for our team to grow together into an even more successful organization.   Congratulations again to Jane, Kayla, and Street!
