Single Payroll Reminders
Beginning in July 2021, all UW–Madison and UW System team members who are paid monthly will be moved to a biweekly payroll schedule. Beginning with the first pay period in August, team members will receive paychecks on a biweekly schedule, with a paycheck every other Thursday.
- The July 30 paycheck is paid for July 1-17, and is less than ½ of what your monthly paychecks had been
- The August 12 biweekly paycheck is for the period July 18-31
- The August 26 biweekly paycheck is for the period August 1-14
- The September 9 biweekly paycheck is for the period August 15-28
- The September 23 biweekly paycheck is for the period August 29-September 11
- Benefits deductions for insurance will be split evenly across the first two biweekly paychecks each month. These include health, dental, vision, life, income continuation, and accident insurance.
- Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions, Health Opt-Out incentive payments, charitable contributions made through payroll deductions, garnishments, and UW–Madison transportation and recreation members will also be adjusted automatically to the new pay schedule.
- Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) will be taken out of 26 pay periods.
- If you are making voluntary contributions or withholdings to any of the following accounts, you may wish to adjust the amounts that are taken from each paycheck. Your monthly deductions will now be deducted every 2 weeks. Example: if you currently have $300 per month deferred to a TSA, with Single Payroll you would now contribute $300 per paycheck or $600 per month versus $300.
