Celebrating National Transfer Student Week

October 18-22 is National Transfer Student Week (NTSW). NTSW is a week dedicated to celebrating transfer students and the diversity they add to our campus community! Our OAR Communications & Marketing team will be promoting options for transfer students and NSTW on our @uwmadisonadmissions Instagram. Encourage students to check out the transfer.wisc.edu website for more information and for a schedule of programs. They can also catch updates via the @transferuwmadison Instagram account or via facebook.com/UWMadisonTransferTransition. We hope you will also join us in celebrating exceeding our target of 1,000 transfer students, enrolling 1,136. Since the standard for reporting transfer enrollment is to only count fall start transfers, this number does not include summer starts. The total new incoming transfer class counting summer and fall is 1,230—a great success! This is up from 1,081 summer and fall starts last year. The transfer class also grew in number and percent of students of color. Enrollment increased about 30 students to 193 students of color and the percent increased 0.8 percentage points to 17% students of color.
