2% Pay Plan Implementation

Good news! The Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCOER) approved a 2 percent pay increase in each of the next two years for state workers, including most UW–Madison employees, under the 2021-23 pay plan. The four percent increase will be phased in, with the first 2 percent increase taking effect on Jan. 2, 2022, and the second 2 percent taking effect in January 2023. All Academic Staff, Faculty, Limited Appointees, and University Staff are eligible to receive the pay plan increase. Some employee categories, including Temporary Employees and student hourly employees, are not eligible. To be eligible to receive the January 2022 pay increase, individuals must have been employed in their current positions on December 5, 2021. Team members must also have completed UW–Madison’s sexual harassment prevention training; completed cybersecurity awareness training; and met performance expectations as identified in their last performance evaluation. Team leads are required to complete performance evaluations for their team members. Team members should expect to see the Jan. 2, 2022 increase on their earnings statement for Jan. 27, 2022. Team member who are receiving the pay increase will receive a written confirmation of their new pay rate. If you have questions related to your eligibility, please contact Ann Bradshaw.
