Let’s Make it an eForm! SAP Edition

The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal process will be a lot easier for students and their academic advisors moving forward! In May 2022, the Office of Student Financial Aid used GT eForms to implement a SAP Student Appeal eForm and a SAP Advisor Appeal eForm.
  • The SAP Student Appeal eForm will be available in the Student eForms tile in the MyUW Student Center for students who are not meeting SAP for the financial aid year and who have not filed their appeal.
  • The SAP appeal process also requires that the student’s academic advisor assess the student’s ability to complete their intended degree. With this new process, when the student meets with their academic advisor, the student can then request within their own Student Appeal eForm that the advisor submit the SAP Advisor Appeal eForm on their behalf. This SAP Advisor Appeal eForm is located in the UW Internal eForms tile, which can be accessed in the advisor’s Administrative Homepage.
Previously students had to complete a fillable PDF form, then reach out to their academic advisor to complete and submit a supporting PDF form, which then both would be submitted usually via email (but sometimes, mailed, faxed, or dropped off) to the financial aid office for review and processing. The implementation of these eForms will streamline the process for students, academic advisors, and the SAP team within OSFA that reviews and processes these appeals as well as reduce the possibility of lost forms. These eForms are responsive so they can be completed on any device including a mobile phone. SAP Communications (via email) to students are automated and we’ll now have additional data available to more easily track various aspects of the SAP process. We are scheduled to have SAP run live during the last week of May with email notifications to students who did not meet SAP being sent shortly thereafter.
