Parking Year (PY) 2022-23 Information
As team members are planning their work schedules, working on-site and/or a hybrid model of working remote, here is information regarding summer 2022 and PY 2022-23 parking. DEM Administration is again basing parking priority assignments based on the expected number of days working on-site per week versus using salary. If several team members are working the same amount of days on-site, seniority will be the second category for assigning priority numbers.
Important Note: You must be in the Permit Application System (PAS) in order to apply for campus parking—please reach out to Paula (paula.gates@wisc.edu) if you need to be entered in the PAS.
Reduced Price Parking Permit Options are available again this year for UW–Madison graduate and professional students and team members with a UW salary less than $35,000 per year (in base wages): https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/reduced-and-low-cost-options/
Flex Permits (https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/flex-parking/) are a pay-per-use program that will have changes for this year, including a rate increase.
- The Flex daily rate maximum will increase to $12 per day.
- Flex hourly rates will increase to $0.80 per 30 minutes for the first three hours of parking, and $0.80 per hour thereafter.
- The Flex program will now offer two permit types based on lot classification: Flex Gated and Flex Surface. New Flex rates apply to both permit types.
- Flex Gated permit holders pre-pay for parking by adding funds to a parking account. The Flex parking rate will be applied when funds are added to the account. Payment will be automatically deducted from the account when permit holders exit a parking ramp.
- Flex Surface permit holders will continue to use ParkMobile to pay at the start of each parking session.
- Tentative deadline for applications to be considered for the first round of parking assignments is June 10, 2022. Parking assignment notifications and offers for first round will be emailed July22-27, 2022. They must be accepted by August 9, 2022.
