Student Supervisor Certificate
The Student Employment team in the Office of Student Financial Aid is excited to announce the launch of the Student Supervisor Certificate, created with support from the Office of Human Resources. Addressing a long sought-after need, the certificate program is designed to enhance and uplift the work of staff who supervise student employees across campus. This program will provide tools, strategies, and a supportive cohort to strengthen supervision practices. This is important because student supervisor effectiveness in creating an environment which supports students’ success is crucial to UW–Madison’s mission “to create, integrate, transfer, and apply knowledge through innovative programs of research, teaching, and public service.”
In order to complete the program professional staff must complete six required classes, two in-person and four virtual offerings. These classes will focus on High Impact Practices, the Dimensions of Wellness, recruitment and onboarding, technology, and much more!
The demand far exceeded the spots available, and we’re thrilled with our diverse cohort of 36 participants from all different nooks and crannies across campus. Programming begins in October and ends in March. Our team is looking forward to all that we learn together.
