Course Search & Enroll app Design Sprint – February 2019

The DoIT Enroll team responsible for the development of the Course Search & Enroll (CS&E) app and the Degree Planner determined that to complete all the committed deliverables pre-SOAR 2019, they needed to increase their average pace of development. Toward that end, the team engaged in a two-week focused sprint (increasing the pace of development by 3-5 times the previous pace). Aaron Apel, as product owner, set the priorities for the sprint and the team reviewed all of the items in the product backlog to document the work increments necessary to achieve the desired outcomes. Increased front-end developer allocation (from 50% to 100%) was also deemed necessary, and the allocation of a dedicated scrum master is also being explored, both of which will complement a recurring prioritization validation process. Emerging from the two-week sprint, the team was back on track for achieving the deliverable priorities in the established timeline.
