Fourth of July Floating Holiday

Since the Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year, team members are granted 8 hours of floating legal holiday (prorated if part time) to use on a day of your choosing. Floating legal holiday hours must be used by the end of the year in which they are granted. When can I use Legal Holiday hours?
  • University Staff must use the hours on or before December 31 of the end of the calendar year granted (use by December 31, 2020).
  • Academic Staff and Limited appointees must use the hours on or before June 30 of the end of the fiscal year granted (use by June 30, 2021).
How do I report Legal Holiday hours?
  • University Staff select “Legal Holiday (CLS)” in Timesheet and add the number of hours (8 for full time) on the date that Legal Holiday hours are used.
  • Academic Staff and Limited appointees select “Legal Holiday (UNC)” in Absences (similar to how you report Vacation) and add the number of hours per day and add the date.
