If you did not receive an invite via O365, please contact Jeremy Traska. Continuation of Furloughs + 2% Pay Plan  UW will implement another round of furloughs, beginning on January 1 and continuing through June 30, 2021. The furloughs will be structured the same way as the 2020 program and will again ensure smaller reductions for lower-paid team members and larger reductions for higher-paid team members, ranging from 3 to 6 furlough days [Furlough Chart]. This means furloughs will reduce team members’ pay over these six months by 2.5% to 4.6%, depending on the number of furlough days required. The 2% pay plan will be implemented as planned at the start of January 2021. The effective dates will be January 1 for monthly payroll (paid 2/1/21) and January 3 for bi-weekly payroll (paid 1/28/21). This is the second increase as part of the overall 4% pay plan (first increase occurred in January 2020). Note: The 2% increase may impact your furlough category. Team members eligible for the increase are:
  • University, academic and limited staff
  • In ‘pay status’ on November 22, 2020 (university) or December 1, 2021 (academic/limited)
  • Completed UW–Madison’s sexual harassment prevention training
  • Met performance expectations as identified in their last performance evaluation
  • Supervisors: Are required to complete performance evaluations for the team members they supervise
  • *Students, graduate assistants, and temporary employees are not eligible. Adjustments for post-retirement rehires and terminal appointments are at the discretion of units
