Updated Parking Prioritization Process

DEM is required to submit a prioritized list of team members to Transportation Services in June to determine parking priority for the upcoming year. Historically, DEM used an antiquated formula largely based on salary and years of service. This created equity concerns since, generally, higher paid team members received a higher priority. DEM will no longer use salary as a factor. Instead, the primary factor will be expected onsite time for the upcoming year. Team members will be categorized into six groups and then the groups will be sub-prioritized based on years on service. Your DEM COVID Response Team reps (Angie, JP, Nancy, Mallory, Cori, Jeremy, Ann) will gather this information as part of Summer/Fall 2021+ planning efforts.
FY22 Expected Time Onsite Parking Priority Group
100% Onsite [5 days/week] Group #1 (Highest)
80% Onsite [4 days/week] Group #2
60% Onsite [3 days/week] Group #3
40% Onsite [2 days/week] Group #4
20% Onsite [1 day/week] Group #5
Less than 10% Onsite/Fully Remote Group #6 (Lowest)
  Example:
  • Ann plans to work 80% onsite. Ann has 20 years of service. [Group #2]
  • Jeremy plans to work 80% onsite. Jeremy has 10 years of service. [Group #2]
  • Paula plans to work 60% onsite. Paula has 35 years of service. [Group #3]
  • Kelly plans to work 100% onsite. Kelly has 5 years of services. [Group #1]
