Federal Work Study Partner Site Visit Initiative
The Student Employment team is excited to share the highlights of our recent Federal Work Study Partner Site Visit Initiative from May. During our visit with the Department of Administration tour guides, we discovered their mission of providing unique guided tours of the capital, with UW–Madison student employees serving as essential tour guides. In addition, with a team comprising of work-study, they emphasized how beneficial they are in sharing the history of the capital with the community. As a special treat, we were given a “personal” capital tour! In another site visit with the Department of Natural Resources, we explored their mission of protecting and enhancing natural resources while providing outdoor opportunities for all. Again, UW–Madison student employees contributed significantly to this mission and were praised for their dedication to further invasive species control and ecological restoration. For example, they developed literature reviews for invasive species in Wisconsin, which was used to propose regulations at the state level. Overall, these visits showcased the valuable contributions of student employees and our partnership with these organizations.
