Expansion of Summer Financial Aid

The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) continues to work collaboratively with the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) Summer Term to expand summer aid for our students in financial aid promise programs. In early 2023, a group from OSFA and DCS met to determine how we could combine our efforts to provide additional institutional aid to our Pell-eligible and promise program students.  Not only did we expand the number of students receiving institutional summer aid, but we also increased the amount of grants by $200 (for a total of $1,500 in institutional aid) for continuing students who are in Bucky’s Pell Pathway, BANNER, or are Pell-eligible. The collaboration and flexibility continued as our Early Start program participants applied for scholarships. While reviewing applications, the Early Start Coordinators worked with OSFA to identify additional aid for students intending to enroll but had additional financial need. OSFA and DCS are hopeful that expanding aid for these students will continue to meet our individual and combined goals while ensuring success for students.
