Summer 2024 and Parking Year (PY) 2024-25 Information

DEM Session: Parking 2024-25 Via Teams (optional calendar invites sent for 2 identical sessions)
  • Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 23, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
As team members are planning their work schedules, working on-site and/or a hybrid model of working remote, here is information regarding summer 2024 and PY 2024-25 parking. DEM Administration is again delegating parking priority assignments based on the number of days working on-site per week versus using salary. Your priority assignment will be higher if your on-site work percentage is higher. If several team members are working the same number of days on-site, seniority will be the second category for assigning priority numbers. Important Note: You must be in the Permit Application System (PAS) to apply for campus parking—please reach out to Paula (paula.gates@wisc.edu) if you are unable to log into PAS at https://www.fpm.wisc.edu/trans/Permits/Apply and would like to be added to the system.   Parking Permit Options  Annual base lot permits are best for those with standard first-shift schedules who need to be on campus, but who do not have reliable access to alternative modes of transportation. The permit provides guaranteed parking in an assigned lot during peak hours, and is also valid for parking in alternate campus lots during off-peak hours. Reduced Price Parking Permit Options are available again this year for UW–Madison graduate and professional students and team members. Last year UW team members and graduate/professional students with a gross hourly pay rate less than $18.72 per hour qualified for reduced rate parking. The qualifying pay rate has not yet been set for the 2024-25 parking year, and Transportation Services will release this information as soon as it is available. For more information, please visit: https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/reduced-and-low-cost-options/ Flex Permits (https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/flex-parking/) are a pay-per-use program and rates will not change this year.
  • The Flex daily rate maximum is $12 per day.
  • Flex hourly rates are $0.80 per 30 minutes for the first three hours of parking, and $0.80 per hour thereafter.
  • The Flex program has two permit types based on lot classification: Flex Gated and Flex Surface.
    • Flex Gated permit holders pre-pay for parking by adding funds to a parking account. The Flex parking rate will be applied when funds are added to the account. Payment will be automatically deducted from the account when permit holders exit a parking ramp. Flex Gated permit holders may also choose to use ParkMobile to pay for parking in alternative lots other than their assigned garage after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends.
    • Flex Surface permit holders use ParkMobile to pay at the start of each parking session both for daily and after-hours/weekend parking.
