Student Employee Forum Returns, Supported by Wisconsin Exchange Grant
In collaboration with Rec Well and University Housing, the Student Employment team in the Office of Student Financial Aid will host the annual Student Employee Forum on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Gordon Dining and Event Center. This free, in‑person event invites all UW–Madison students, whether currently employed on campus or exploring job opportunities, to engage in learning, skill‑building, and community connection.
The Forum features a keynote address by Dr. John Dunne of the Center for Healthy Minds, focusing on navigating change with resilience. Students may then choose from multiple interactive workshops, covering topics such as workplace self‑awareness, effective feedback, inclusive leadership, and identifying transferable skills.
This year’s event is made possible in part through the Wisconsin Exchange grant, awarded through a competitive selection process that supports initiatives aimed at broadening viewpoint diversity and strengthening civil dialogue across campus. The grant program funds projects that foster leadership, collaboration, and meaningful engagement with differing perspectives—key outcomes the Forum is designed to promote. The Student Employee Forum was selected among the 2026–27 Wisconsin Exchange grant recipients for its commitment to helping student employees learn how to communicate and lead across differences. A huge shout out to our Student Employment Peer Advisor, Lily Sobczak for taking the lead in securing this competitive funding.
While registration has already closed, if you have a student employee who’d like to attend please just send a note to student.employment@finaid.wisc.edu
