Focus on Bias: 10.2019

The Office of Student Financial Aid distributes a monthly email focused on implicit bias with some videos to watch, articles to read, and other events around campus and the community that we encourage you to attend if your schedule allows. Podcasts of the Month: Articles of the Month: This month we are sharing two different articles about the impact of the initial Homecoming Video that omitted footage of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Both articles are written by people of color and we feel that it’s important to listen to their perspective and acknowledge their experiences. The podcasts set a similar tone but are not about our institution. We also want to acknowledge that there are many other local stories that have occurred recently that we should all be aware of and encourage everyone to stay on top of what’s going on in our community so that they can support each other and our students.
