Emergency Leave Programs Update

On April 22, Ann Bradshaw sent out an email informing you about the UW COVID-19 Leave and Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). COVID-19 allowed employees, who qualified for the leave, the ability to be paid up to 100% of their salary. As of May 16, 2020, the UW COVID-19 Leave program ended. The FFCRA leave may still be an option if you continue to need leave for a qualifying reason. There are two parts to FFCRA:
  • EPSLA (Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act)-effective April 1 through December 31, 2020
  • EFMLEA (Emergency Family & Medical Leave Expansion)-effective April 1 through December 31, 2020
Please refer to the email from April 22 with the subject line “Leave Programs (COVID-19 and Families First Coronavirus Response Act) Information” for details about these programs.  Information can also be found on the campus website at https://hr.wisc.edu/covid19/emergency-leave/ If you have questions about these programs please feel free to contact Ann Bradshaw or Paula Gates.
