A Tale of Two Releases: Early Action Chapter 2

On December 15, we released 15,380 Early Action admissions decisions. These decisions were sent to students from Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and California, as well as all international applicants, excluding China. We admitted just over 10,000 students and deferred just over 4,000 applicants. The second wave of Early Action decisions is on track to be sent by the end of January, as noted on our website and other materials. We estimate 17,000 decisions will be released at this time. Students will continue to be prompted by email that they have a decision in their MyUW Student Center, where they will be able to view their admission decision. Students who are admitted will receive an Admitted Student Checklist booklet (in the mail for US-based students and online for international students), a collaborative effort across the division and campus to share important information on their next steps toward enrolling as a Badger. It includes details on financial aid, scholarships, housing, placement testing, final transcripts, SOAR, and more.
