Floating Holidays for Saturday, December 25, 2021 and Saturday, January 1, 2022

Since December 25, 2021 (Christmas Day) and January 1, 2022 (New Year’s Day) fall on a Saturday this year, leave-eligible team members can use 8 hours of “floating holiday” for each day (16 total hours). These floating holiday hours must be used in the calendar year or the fiscal year in which they occur.
  • University Staff must use 8 hours of “floating” Legal Holiday during the calendar year (by December 31, 2021) or it will be lost. University Staff must use 8 hours of “floating” Legal Holiday during the 2022 calendar year (by December 31, 2022) or it will be lost.
  • Academic Staff and Limited Appointees must use 16 hours of “floating” Legal Holiday during the current fiscal year (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022) or these hours will be lost.
Floating Legal Holidays are reported in the same way you report Vacation, Sick Leave, Personal Holiday, except that you select “Legal Holiday (CLS)” or “Legal Holiday (UNC)”.
