DAAP team collaborates to share successes

In February 2023, members from the Office of the Registrar’s Degree Audit and Academic Programs (DAAP) team attended the Leepfrog User Community Conference. The conference focused on building technical skills within CourseLeaf, the curricular management software that we refer to as Lumen on campus, as well as learning new ways to leverage CourseLeaf for student success from the over 175 peer institutions in attendance. Sara Arnsdorf, Jess Baran, and Jen Brown presented at the Leepfrog User Community Conference where two institutions requested follow-up meetings with the team.  Jess Baran, Jen Brown, Anne Eckenrod, and Will Lipske met with staff from Northeastern University and Loyola University Chicago to talk in more detail about the information shared in the presentation and how UW–Madison utilizes CourseLeaf. During our meeting with Northeastern University we focused our conversation on utilizing CourseLeaf to publish Guide. We shared our communication strategies, campus policies related to publishing, and details on our publishing timelines. In our meeting with Loyola University Chicago, we shared our experience with integrating CourseLeaf with Peoplesoft. We provided recommendations on how to optimize their implementation process, ideas of ways to set up their processes, and examples of how we utilize the software alongside Peoplesoft.  These meetings along with the conference were rewarding ways to share knowledge and live out the Wisconsin Idea.
