Wisconsin Welcome – OSFA Style

The team at OSFA hosted a variety of events to get the semester started strong for both our new and continuing students.

Bucky’ Pell Pathway and BANNER Events

Three events in three days to give our incoming students a chance to engage with our team and build community as soon as they get to campus.

Ice Cream Social

OSFA Team Members (Left to Right), MollyJo Bautch, Soleil Jacinto, Lilly Timmerman, and Joselyn Diaz-Valdes at the Ice Cream Social with over 300 new Pathway and BANNER scholars.

BBQ at Brittingham Park

333 ECM Resource Fair

The offices of 333 East Campus Mall joined forces (thanks to CfLI) to host a resource fair and make students aware of everything our building has to offer.
5 people stand next to a cardboard cutout of Buddy Bucky under a tent and behind a table both branded with Office of Student Financial Aid.

OSFA Team Members (Left to Right) Sam Monson, Kristina Rittel, Angela Terrab, Joselyn Diaz-Valdes, and CC Vang let students spin the wheel to win swag and chat with us about financial aid.

Boba Bliss & Tye Dye Twists

More than just a fun title, this event focused on community building among students in Bucky’s Pell Pathway & Mentor Collective programs. Brought together around Boba Tea (shout out to Le c’s) and tie-dying tote bags, 89 attendees enjoyed each other’s company while also learning about our team’s programs like success coaching, mentorship, and basic needs support. BPP students on the 8th floor of Chadbourne, the Pathway Affinity Community, had a great showing and were able to meet Ellen- our Success Coach who will be having dedicated office hours with the Pathway Affinity Community this year.

Student Job Fair

Despite a few raindrops, the Student Job Fair was well attended and had students buzzing about the 20 UW–Madison employers in attendance. It gave students the chance to explore jobs and engage directly with opportunities.

The 300 block of East Campus Mall lined with employers while students walk down the middle to engage with each opportunity.
