Lumen Updates – February 2019

Campus use of Class Section Builder/CSB (the name given to UW–Madison’s implementation of the CourseLeaf CLSS module) was officially suspended on February 18. To support the campus transition back to relying solely on SIS to create and maintain the Schedule of Classes, five half-day SIS trainings were held throughout February, along with two open labs for departmental Curricular Representatives as they completed their work building the Fall 2019 schedule of classes.UW–Madison hosted developers from Leepfrog to share what progress they made in modifying the Northwestern CLSS bridge to make it more functional than it was, as-shared by Northwestern. Dale Redmond met with 4 guests from the company for 2 days, including the CEO Lee Brintle. Lee shared that the time spent at UW–Madison was instrumental in advancing their development to produce a vendor-supplied bridge between CourseLeaf CLSS and PeopleSoft. Kudos to Dale! Will Lipske also attended the Leepfrog User’s Conference in order to continue to learn more about the Courseleaf products and connect with other schools using them.  Non-governed content for the June 1, 2019 Guide publication was due this month. The Office of the Registrar and APIR held 3 days worth of Lumen Open Labs to assist Schools/Colleges in their curation and updates to their content. Governed content can still be updated in Lumen-Programs for the June 1, 2019 Guide. Any approved prior to April 30, 2019 will be included in the publication.
