Summer 2020 Transition to Remote Instruction

As part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, summer classes that had been scheduled for in-person instruction moved to remote delivery. The Office of the Registrar helped facilitate this transition in several ways. Scripts were created and run to make important updates to the Schedule of Classes in bulk, relieving departmental curricular representatives of otherwise manual updates. Queries were created and data analyses run to help inform instructional continuity teams and deans’ offices as they planned and monitored changes in the summer schedule. The Curricular Services team also provided ongoing information, consultation, and problem resolution for curricular reps as they made adjustments to the summer schedule of classes. Finally, we worked with campus colleagues to make lecture-capture General Assignment classrooms available to instructors as one way they could record instructional content for remote delivery.
