07.08.20 Mental Health Wellness Update
While we all are telecommuting, OSFA will be sharing some ideas to boost your mental health during these difficult times. If you know of any videos, podcasts, articles, events, ideas, etc. that would be perfect to include in these emails, please send them along to Erica Tisdale at erica.tisdale@wisc.edu.
One Way to Improve Your Day: Let go of your pandemic guilt. Right now many folks are dealing with guilt due to the pandemic. You may feel guilty because your kiddos are getting more screen time than you’d like, because you’re not performing to your typical standard, or simply because you are healthy and have a job when so many are in much worse situations. While guilt is a totally normal emotion, unwarranted guilt can lead to depression and anxiety. Consider taking time to notice, acknowledge, and accept any unwarranted guilt you’re feeling and move on. You could even take a moment to write what you’re feeling guilty about down and then throw it away even. Be sure you are giving yourself grace during these difficult times.
