Thank You and Meet the New Class of 2025
Congratulations to everyone in the Division for helping recruit, admit, award, and enroll the largest class in UW history. As we prepare for a new application cycle, take a moment to meet the class of 2025. Highlights from the UW–Madison press release include:
- The freshman class includes 8,465 students and is the largest in UW history. Of these new students, 46% are Wisconsin students from 71 out of 72 of Wisconsin counties.
- This is also the university’s most racially and ethnically diverse class in history, with 1,251 underrepresented students of color making up 15% of the newest class. All students of color compromise 25% of the freshman class. International students make up 10% of the class, representing 45 countries.
- For the fifth year in a row, the number of National Merit Scholarship finalists has increased, an overall 175% increase since 2016.
