Reminder: Use or Lose Certain Leave by June 30

Leave Reminders as we approach the end of the Fiscal Year 2022 (June 30, 2022) for Academic Staff and Limited Team Members
  • Legal Holidays—There are 9 days of paid legal holidays during the fiscal year July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. When a legal holiday falls on a Saturday, eligible team members are granted 8 hours of floating legal holiday to use any time during the current fiscal year (including prior to the date of the floating legal holiday) and when a legal holiday falls on a Sunday, the legal holiday is observed and UW–Madison is closed on the Monday following the legal holiday.
    • Academic Staff and Limited Term team members should have a current balance of 8 hours of legal holiday for Memorial Day (Monday, May 30, 2022). Anything over 8 hours is “floating legal holiday” and should be used by June 30, 2022, or it will be lost. Please select “Legal Holiday (UNC)” in Request Absences prior to June 20, 2022, to use any floating legal holiday hours you may have.
    • Since Saturday, December 25, 2021, was a floating legal holiday and Saturday, January 1, 2022, was a floating legal holiday, team members may have up to 16 hours of floating legal holiday if it has not previously been used.
    • Please check your balances in the MyUW Time and Absence tile within “Absence Balances” to see if you have unused floating legal holiday hours.
  • Vacation Carryover—Vacation Carryover balances need to be used by June 30, 2022 or they will be lost.
  • Personal Holiday—Personal Holiday hours need to be used by June 30, 2022 or they will be lost.
