Report rewrite: Update National Student Clearinghouse reports

Electronic transmissions of enrollment, program, and other student information is sent to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC)  multiple times each term. The NSC provides educational reporting (including data to the National Student Loan Data System), verification and research and includes a large national network of colleges, making up 97 percent of postsecondary enrollment.  When enrollment data is submitted to the clearinghouse, an error resolution report is then generated. Major and program information is sometimes missing or incorrect from the NSC enrollment report following a program/plan change, along with other scenarios that generate errors. The missing information then creates an error on the NSC enrollment report due to conflicting information. Staff in the student records area are responsible for resolving errors, which requires individual review of errors, review of various pages in SIS, and manual correction to the data in the clearinghouse for each individual student error. As we get further along in each term, as students make enrollment and major/program changes, the changes stack up results in increased errors as the reporting goes on each term. As you can imagine, this can be a time consuming process.  An initiative has been underway in the RO for almost one year to improve the process, with developers Leslie Gardner and previously Dale Redmond and student services staff members Jessi Arnfelt and Katie block workin together to develop, test, and implement the changes. The process will now use snap shots of data between each date we report to the NSC, reducing the complexity of what is being reported with the intention of reducing conflicting information and improving the accuracy of program, enrollment and other student information reported to the NSC. Reporting for spring term begins January 25, 2023.
