OSFA GT eForms New and Updated
Modify Accepted Loans
Students frequently accept a loan, but later realize that perhaps they need to modify or cancel the loan. The Office of Student Financial Aid has created a new form that allows students the ability to cancel, reduce, or request an increase on an already accepted loan!
The functionality in the form allows the student the ability to see all their loans for each term in the aid year, and then take action, with logic built into the form that allows an instantaneous calculation. After the student enters the new loan amount, the form will take into consideration the loan fee percentage and calculate the new net amount (after loan fees). The student also can enter additional information to assist in processing the request.
Behind the scenes, the form is pushing comments in SIS, to allow team members easy access to the necessary information and is sending communications to the student!
Promise Appeal
The Office of Student Financial Aid continues to offer extensive Promise programs to help students pay for college through grants, scholarships, and work-study. Each student is in a particular program is eligible for a limited number of terms. However, there are situations where a student may have an extenuating circumstance or needs one additional term to obtain that degree. In scenarios like that, we have made available to students a Promise Appeal eForm!
The Office of Student Financial Aid’s Advising & Outreach team meets with the student to learn more about the student’s situation. The form pulls in indicators for the team to easily identify which promise program the student is in, along with the number of credits the student has, and how many terms for the promise program have been used.
An advisor can request additional terms and push comments to our Federal Awards team, who then approves or denies. In the background, the form pushes comments within SIS, updates student groups and service indicators, and sends out communications to the student and team members!
