Save the date: SIS down for an upgrade
The campus Student Information System (SIS) – or Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions – will be down beginning July 1st at 5:00PM for an upgrade to PeopleTools version 8.60, with a target of Wednesday, July 5 10:00 p.m. for SIS to be available again to all users. During this outage period, users, including students, will not be able to access SIS. SIS-dependent systems, such as DARS, CashNet, 25Live and the Course Search and Enroll app, will also be unavailable during this outage.
This is an upgrade to the core technology that SIS is built on. The upgrade does not change key functionality of SIS, nor will the upgrade impact core operations. For end users, the upgrade delivers a new look and feel to several components of SIS.
Why upgrade now?
The main driver for this upgrade is that as of April 2023, Oracle will no longer deliver patches and updates for the current PeopleTools version used for SIS (version 8.58). In addition, the new PeopleTools release will support more recent versions of web browsers, as well as deliver enhancements to technical features and security components.
What are the most noticeable changes to the look and feel?
The upgrade will result in changes to the SIS user interface. Largely this means a new look and feel to the SIS homepage, a new menu style, and changes to search capabilities.
More information and reminders will be coming over the next few weeks as we near the go-live date for the upgrade. In the meantime, save the date for the associated outage July 1 – July 5. If you have any questions related to the PeopleTools 8.60 upgrade, email Leah Meicher.
