Update on JIRA/Confluence alternatives
As the planning work for our Jira and Confluence replacement continues, we wanted to provide an update on the progress. The Office of the Registrar IT Portfolio Manager has met with each of the DEM areas, as well as our external partners, to assess current use of both Jira and Confluence. A survey was also conducted collecting ‘Must Have’ and ‘Nice to Have’ requirements to help inform what replacement solutions may suit DEM’s needs best, and results are currently being analyzed.

As part of the evaluation, we have begun configuring a Jira and Confluence Cloud demo environment that a few users from across DEM will have access to in order to help identify if the new tools could meet our needs.
As a reminder, both platforms will no longer be available after January 31, 2025. All users will need to migrate off these services by December 2024.
