OAR Admissions Counselor Summer Training
The OAR admissions counselor team engaged in training throughout the summer to prepare for upcoming fall recruitment. One of the highlights was the summer scavenger hunt, where teams solved 25 clues to visit various campus locations. From touring the new Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center and exploring the Geology Museum to visiting our Office of Student Financial Aid colleagues and having lunch at Hillel, this enriching experience facilitated both team learning and bonding. Reach out to Kayla Jensen if you’d like a copy of the activity!
Counselors also did research presentations on each of the eight undergraduate schools and colleges on campus and presented to the rest of the counseling team on majors and certificates, advising, research, and extracurricular opportunities.
Finally, our counseling team had a one-day retreat on September 5, where we discussed talking points for the fall on hot-button issues, learned from our financial aid partners, and had a joint session and lunch with our front lines student employees. We ended the day by attending Convocation to welcome the new incoming class that we had a part in bringing to campus!
