Parking Updates for 2025-26

Round 2 parking permit offers were sent via email on July 30, 2025. If you were offered a permit in round 2, please make sure to accept it by August 12, 2025.   You can renew or purchase a bus pass starting August 1. Please visit the Employee Bus Pass Program for more information: https://transportation.wisc.edu/commuter-solutions/bus/employee-bus-pass-program/   Parking Permit Options   Annual base lot permits are best for those with standard first-shift schedules who need to be on campus more than 2 days per week, but who do not have reliable access to alternative modes of transportation. The permit provides guaranteed parking in an assigned lot during peak hours and is also valid for parking in alternate campus lots during off-peak hours.   Reduced Price Parking Permit Options are available again this year for UW–Madison graduate and professional students and team members. The qualifying pay rate for 2025-26 is $21.63 or less per hour  ($44,990 annually). For more information, please visit: https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/reduced-and-low-cost-options/   Flex Permits (https://transportation.wisc.edu/permits/flex-parking/) are a pay-per-use program and rates will not change this year.
  • The Flex daily rate maximum is $12 per day.
  • Flex hourly rates are $0.80 per 30 minutes for the first three hours of parking, and $0.80 per hour thereafter.
  • The Flex program has two permit types based on lot classification: Flex Gated and Flex Surface.
    • Flex Gated permit holders pre-pay for parking by adding funds to a parking account. The Flex parking rate will be applied when funds are added to the account. Payment will be automatically deducted from the account when permit holders exit a parking ramp. Flex Gated permit holders may also choose to use ParkMobile to pay for parking in alternative lots other than their assigned garage after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends.
    • Flex Surface permit holders use ParkMobile to pay at the start of each parking session both for daily and after-hours/weekend parking.
