Improving Records and Enrollment by connecting across states
The Records and Enrollment team within the Office of the Registrar’s Student Services participated in a joint, collaborative meeting with their counterpart unit at CU Boulder. The meeting was held virtually on June 7th and was a space to share best practices that the units are utilizing, brainstorm ideas, and ask each other questions.
There were 14 team members in attendance and those participating said it was a great space to share how each office approaches different obstacles, procedures and challenges. During the conversation team members discussed one idea of involving AACRAO to help address the challenge of the ever increasing demand for college report verification requests from students. College report is a report/verification that many institutions require when students are transferring universities. CU Boulder was also particularly interested in hearing from our team members about academic standing and the recent project our office completed as they are on a similar journey.
Other topics that were discussed between the two universities were military verifications, parchment transcript experience, and names on diplomas. Overall, these types of collaborative meetings with other universities help provide a better understanding of issues, brainstorm new ideas and solutions, and build a network of professional peers.
