DEM picks Kunz, Leigh and Associates as cloud Jira, Confluence implementation partner

As the shift from the on-premise versions of Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence approaches, the Division of Enrollment Management is planning on partnering with Kunz, Leigh and Associates (KL&A) to serve as an implementation partner, pending final agreement negotiations. KL&A will help DEM create and execute an implementation plan, working with a cross-functional implementation workgroup to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible. The company was selected based on its excellent track record of helping higher education institutions use Atlassian tools to increase collaboration, efficiency, planning, and scalability of operations. The cross-functional workgroup consists of representatives from across DEM, external SIS partners, and partners from DoIT. Please feel free to reach out to your representative or Brittney Trimmer with any questions.

In April, DEM announced the selection of cloud versions of Jira and Confluence to replace the on-premise versions, which are being retired due to cost considerations and Atlassian’s shift toward cloud-based products. The new cloud-based tools are expected to roll out in mid-December, with the legacy products set to shut down on January 31, 2025. At this time, no action is required. Further details, including training opportunities and potential action items, will be communicated as the implementation plan unfolds.
